The Falāḥ Archive lists the texts of the Falāḥ curriculum as found in Iṣlāḥ al-madāris (The Reconstruction of the Seminaries) by the renowned scholar Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Ghursī and collects audio and audiovisual recordings of Shaykh Ṣāliḥ teaching the required and supplementary texts of the curriculum. Where recordings of Shaykh Ṣāliḥ are not available, links are provided to recordings of other scholars from Shaykh Ṣāliḥ’s seminary or from other institutions teaching the texts, in Arabic and in English.
The Archive seeks to preserve Shaykh Ṣāliḥ’s teaching legacy and enable students of the Islamic sciences to benefit from the curriculum and Shaykh Ṣālīh’s teaching methodology and insights, especially given that Shaykh Ṣāliḥ has written commentaries, glosses, or notes on a number of the texts of the curriculum. The Archive provides students not only a snapshot but a detailed record of the Ottoman seminary as many generations of students knew it. The Archive can be used to supplement one’s study of the texts in the curriculum or review of previously studied portions. Researchers into the history of seminary curriculum development may find value in the presentation of the texts and the categorization by subject matter.
The Archive will be continually updated whenever new or updated recordings of Shaykh Ṣāliḥ are available.
